Help! I can’t register…

The Neonatal Skills website uses industry standard software that should be compatible with all modern computers. Unfortunately some NHS computers are not quite so modern, and some Trusts have very stringent security settings that block websites from processing payments online. If you’re having trouble registering with the website or booking into your course, you can try:

  • use a personal laptop, smartphone or tablet to register
  • use a different email address (e.g. nhs.net, gmail etc.)
  • check your spam or junk folders for your confirmation email

if you continue to have difficulties, please contact us for help.

How do I know that my booking is confirmed for a course?

Once you have registered and paid the booking fee, you will receive a confirmation email and receipt. Due to the popularity of the courses, and limited space, we are not able to hold places for those who have not paid the booking fee. Once a course is sold out, you can register for the waiting list if you are keen to take up a place if someone drops out.

Who runs Neonatal Skills and the STAN course?

The STAN course was developed by the team at NTS, the dedicated neonatal transfer service for London. Neonatal Skills is part of a privately owned company that publicises the course and processes ticket fees in order to support the running of the course.

Who is on the faculty?

The faculty consists of neonatal consultants, senior transport nurses and middle grade doctors with considerable transport experience.

What is the teaching format?

The courses use a mixture of lectures, interactive workshops, demonstrations of equipment and high definition simulation.

Can I cancel once I’ve made a booking?

Yes you can, up to two weeks before the start of a course. Please see the full terms and conditions.

Why have prices gone up?

We want to run courses as a service to the neonatal community, but they also need to be financially sustainable. Once we are past the pilot stage for a course, we will increase prices so that they reflect the true cost of running a high quality training course. We will also seek grants and sponsorship so that we can keep the cost down as far as possible. Neonatal teams are also encouraged to take advantage of local study budgets and look for sponsorship and charitable donations themselves.

Can I get a discount?

The income from the course goes towards the venue, food and refreshments and faculty expenses. Any remaining funds are used for simulation resources to support future courses. As such we cannot reduce prices further. You can save money by booking early and taking advantage of the Early Bird Discount. If you are part of a regional transport service and would like to discuss hosting a local course, please get in touch with us.
